Supporting Us

Christian Family Concern seeks to be Christian in more than just name. Our Christianity is also much more than a relic of our history. Our faith, and its expression, is central to everything we are and do.

Our vision of family life and the source of our strength to work towards it, in often complex and difficult times, both stem from our trust in a God who loves us and created us to love others. Of course, our services are offered to all, regardless of faith, but we like to think that everything that happens on our site reflects that love of God and we pray that this may indeed be the case.

One of the most prominent things we do is organising an annual Thanksgiving Service. Held in recent years in a marquee on site, it’s a fun opportunity for all of us to get together and celebrate God’s goodness to us. We see this very much as a time for all those involved with Christian Family Concern, whether children, parents, carers, staff, residents or supporters to be involved in a witness of God’s love in action. See our News page for details…

Likewise, in the run up to Christmas we hold a service at a local church celebrating the nativity story. This is usually in the first week of December, but details will be available in due course.

How you can support the work of Christian Family Concern

Taking an informed interest…

By receiving our newsletters and other updates on a regular basis. We welcome feedback from our supporters about our printed material and our website so that we can adapt and improve. If there are any suggestions you would like to make please get in touch.

Praying for our work…

Perhaps using the prayer diary in our newsletter which may help you to focus on areas of our work. We will always be happy to keep you informed about a particular issue or what is happening in one of the units. We would ask our supporters to continue upholding the work of Christian Family Concern in their prayer time. If you can share our prayer needs with others, perhaps in your church, this would be a bonus.

Supporting us financially…

Acting as a link person for your church…

You could be our named contact in your fellowship, distributing newsletters and other material, perhaps organising an entry in your church magazine, or facilitating a prayer or fundraising event or activity. This is a role of key importance to our work enabling us to keep connected with and rooted in The Church, and bringing our work to the attention of people not previously aware of us. We would be delighted to tell you a bit more about how we can help you to help us if you contact our office.

Special Events…

Maybe you could organise some kind of fundraising event or activity that would be contributing financially to our work as well as raising awareness, such as:

  • Coffee mornings
  • Carol concerts
  • Church gift days
  • Sponsored challenge activities
  • Cake or plant sales

We are very happy to help with advice or ideas and promotional material or provide a speaker.

Becoming a Member of Association…

Christian Family Concern is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. It is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the Members of Association. Trustees and Members are committed to the charity’s success in achieving its purpose of expressing the love of Christ in action.

Members are typically Christians who have had some link with the charity for some time and feel that they would like to take a stronger role, in particular the responsibility for electing the Trustees and monitoring how the charity’s business is being governed.

If you would like to formalise your role in the charity and like the opportunity to influence its progress and development, please get in touch with our office.

Membership provides eligibility to serve as a trustee.
