WALLIS BEDSIT SCHEME AIM: We provide semi-independent living accommodation for young mothers with support needs.
Our priority group is first time teenage mothers but sometimes we can accommodate older mothers, or mothers with a second child. We have six bed-sits with shared lounge, bathroom, utility room & kitchen facilities. The unit has now been expanded to include four self contained rooms into which mothers move as part of our 'move-on' programme. These rooms have their own kitchen / bathroom space and aid young mothers in preparing for indepentent living. We continue to provide one-to-one support on a regular basis.
Each resident has a ‘named worker’ from the support staff team with whom they have regular sessions and an individual support agreement. We also use ‘house meetings’ with all the residents meeting together. Typically, we are working on independent living and parenting skills, with a focus from the start on preparation for moving on to independent living.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? £128.25 Per Week (Shared Facilities) £156.25 Per Week (Independent Facilities) Rent / Support charges are reviewed annually with any increases typically being effective in April.
